Sediment analysis is included in the legislation within the scope of the Regulation on the Control of Pollution Caused by Hazardous Substances in Water and Environment and the Regulation on Environmental Management of Dredging Material. Sediment is the organic and inorganic sediment accumulated at the bottom of water bodies.
Before starting dredging activities, sediment analysis is performed in the quantities specified in Annex-1 of the Regulation on Environmental Management of Dredging Material. In addition, sediment analysis of hazardous substances should be reported annually within the scope of the Regulation on Control of Pollution Caused by Hazardous Substances in Water and Environment.
